Dear Prince of Peace Family and Friends,

As we approach the end of this year with anticipation for the new, we take some time now to give thanks for all that God has done and is doing in our lives. The Apostle Paul writes Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (1Th 5:16-18 NRSV)

There are certainly moments when we struggle to know the will of God, but Paul reminds us that God’s will, God’s intent, for us, is to be a grateful people. I am grateful. I am thankful for you, my church family. We are a family gathered to be image bearers – to be people who know that we have been stamped, like a coin, with the image of God. We are called to be creators. Creators of good. We are called to listen and be guided by the Holy Spirit so that when we do speak, when we do create, we speak light into the darkness. What a wonderful calling we have.

As I reflect on the incredible legacy of those who have come before us, I am reminded of how Prince of Peace has been shaped by their dedication, faith and service. Today, we stand on their shoulders, and as we look toward the future, we are excited to continue building upon that foundation.

In the coming year, we are committed to strengthening and expanding our programs for our retired and senior adults at every stage of life. To help us envision new possibilities, we are creating a team to explore fresh ways to engage, equip and connect with our senior adults. This team will help us dream of opportunities that not only keep our senior adults engaged but also send them out into the world in service. We seek to create exciting new ways for senior adults to grow spiritually, serve others and be deeply connected within the Prince of Peace family.

This holiday season, we invite you to partner with us in dreaming big for the future of our senior adult ministry and to consider how God might use this ministry in new and powerful ways in the year ahead. We ask that you prayerfully consider making a year-end gift to support the growth of this ministry. Your generosity will help fund new programs and outreach that will deepen the faith and engagement of our retired and senior adults. Thank you for your prayerful consideration and support as we continue to serve and build a community that fosters spiritual growth, connection and service for all ages.

As you move into our Thanksgiving and Advent seasons, may you know that you are created and stamped with the image of a thankful God who calls all of us into gratitude. Blessings to you!

You can make your gift easily through our online giving platform by clicking here. All year-end gifts must be made electronically or postmarked by 11:59 pm on Tuesday, December 31 for credit in this tax year.

Peace,
Pastor Paul Dean
