Weekend Worship ON-CAMPUS | SATURDAY 5:30 pm ON-CAMPUS | SUNDAY 8:45 & 10:30 AM ONLINE | 8:45 & 10:30 AM
God calls us to journey this life together from our first breath to our last ‐‐ growing as disciples, supporting each other and loving God and all people. Prince of Peace offers opportunities to grow and celebrate at common life events.
Baptism | Keeping The Promise | Weddings | Health Care Directives | Funerals | Columbarium
In baptism, we celebrate God’s embrace along with the promise to never let go. While we acknowledge that God has known us from the beginning, baptism is the tangible, physical expression of God’s love and grace in our lives. Baptism is also the time for friends and family along with the Prince of Peace community to promise to welcome, support and grow in faith right along with those who are being baptized as they grow in their love for God, each other and the world. While we commonly baptize children at Prince of Peace, adults who have not been baptized and who wish to explore a life of faith and a relationship with Jesus Christ are also encouraged to be baptized.
Baptisms may be scheduled at all worship services on the third weekend of each month.

Prince of Peace has dedicated one day each year in the life of your child to remember the promises made during baptism. Keeping the Promise Family Experiences (KTP) are designed to teach children about Christian life and equip families to deepen their faith at home.
Parents and sponsors come together to discover the significance of baptism, identify and explore their role as the primary faith developer in their child’s life, and learn the logistics around baptism at Prince of Peace while building community with others in their same stage of life.
In response to the promise of placing the Holy Scriptures in your child’s hands, at this KTP families will be invited to place a brand new Story Bible into the hands of your preschooler.
In response to the promise to nurture children in faith, this KTP explores the Faith Five Family Tools and discover how faith and life intersect!
In response to the promise to teach children the Lord’s Prayer, this KTP will give families the opportunity to learn about the significance of prayer. First graders and their families will explore the many different ways to pray, including learning the Lord’s Prayer in motion!
In response to the promise to teach children the Ten Commandments, this KTP will give families the opportunity to learn about the significance of the Ten Commandments. Second graders and their families will learn about the history and meaning of the Ten Commandments.
In response to the promise of placing the Holy Scriptures in your child’s hands, at this KTP families will be invited to place a brand new Bible into the hands of your third grader. As a second part of this KTP, families will come together to crack the bindings and explore the Bible in a fun and experiential family experience within a few weeks after receiving the Bible.
In response to the promise to bring children to the Holy Supper, this KTP will give families the opportunity to learn about the significance of Communion. Fourth graders (and older) and their families will learn about the history and significance of Communion, logistics around Communion at Prince of Peace, and decorate stoles to wear when they receive their First Communion.
In response to the promise to teach children the Apostles’ Creed, this KTP will give us the opportunity to explore the meaning behind this very important declaration of faith. Fifth graders and their families will look at the different pieces of the Apostles’ Creed and come to understand what it means to our faith journey.
In response to the promise of placing the Holy Scriptures in your child’s hands, at this KTP families will be invited to place a brand new Bible into the hands of your sixth grader. As a second part of this KTP, families will come together to crack the bindings and explore the Bible in a fun and experiential family experience within a few weeks after receiving the Bible.
In Confirmation, formerly known as Affirmation of Baptism, students in grade 9-12 commit to taking the lead in their own life of discipleship. We help students clarify and bring meaning to the life they commit to during the 10-week Confirmation course. Along the way we’ll learn about who God is, who we are, the story we’re a part of, and the life we’ve been called to.
Two 10-week sessions are offered on Sunday mornings each year (one in the fall and one in the spring). Each session culminates in a celebration with the entire Prince of Peace community during weekend worship.
*Our next Confirmation course will take place in winter or spring. Once a start date has been determined, an announcement will be made to the congregation.
At Prince of Peace, all people, regardless of sexual orientation, are invited to participate fully in the life of this faith community—including marriage.
Marriage Preparation The Pastoral Staff at Prince of Peace expects all couples to participate in some marriage preparation as they anticipate a wedding at Prince of Peace. We believe that you want to begin your married relationship with as many tools as you can gather for a lifetime of growth together. This is one of the most important investments you can make as you prepare for a wedding and a marriage. Prince of Peace uses the SYMBIS Assessment tool as a part of our marriage preparation.

A columbarium offers a final resting place to folks in the Prince of Peace community and comfort to the living. It is a visible sign that the Prince of Peace cares for its community. A columbarium is an option for cremated remains, providing an economical, theologically sound and environmentally friendly option for burial.
A columbarium is an above‐ground structure containing multiple niches (a compartment holding the sealed urn(s) with the cremated remains) which provides a final resting place.
The cost for building and maintaining the columbarium will be self-funded. Proceeds from the sale of niches and memorials, as well as any donations, will be used for construction and maintenance costs.
1. Read the Columbarium Policies and Procedures (pdf) 2. Print and fill out the Application Form (pdf) 3. Return the Application to Prince of Peace by mail or drop off during church office hours 4. Once the Application has been received and reviewed, you will receive a phone call from the church to schedule a meeting 5. The Columbarium Permit will be issued with full payment
Up to two.
While it is anticipated that niche permits will be obtained primarily by people who have had some connection with Prince of Peace, the Church may grant permits and eligibility to others as the Church deems appropriate. Anyone is welcome to visit loved ones who have been inurned in the columbarium and remember, meditate and pray.
The one-time permit fee includes the use of a selected niche, an urn(s) for the cremains, and a distinctive engraved faceplate. Each niche can accommodate up to two urns that will be included in the fee. There is no additional cost for the second urn or for an updated engraved faceplate with both names. There is no discount if a second faceplate or urn(s) are needed. This fee also supports the ongoing maintenance and care of the columbarium and its surroundings, which are owned and operated by Prince of Peace. The permit fee does not include the cost of cremation and/or a funeral service.
Permit fees may change without notice. The current permit fee as of November 1, 2016 is $2,000. The permit fee is due in full at the time the permit is issued by Prince of Peace. There is no charge to change the permit to add a second name to the permit at a later date.
Prince of Peace will maintain a map of niches that are available. Each submitted application and permit must identify the requested niche. Applications for permits will be reviewed in the order in which they are received. Niches will be purchased on a first-come, first-served basis. The permit applicant may choose his/her desired niche location from those available at the time of purchase.
Prince of Peace, through its pastors and designated staff, shall arrange with the family of the deceased for the inurnment of the cremains and a committal service. The committal service at the columbarium shall comply with the existing funeral procedures of Prince of Peace.
No artificial flowers, flags, decorations or emblems will be displayed within or near the columbarium. Fresh flowers may be placed near a niche only at inurnment and will be removed thereafter. Flowers for the Sanctuary altar are suggested as an appropriate means of honoring the deceased.
We have an indoor temporary structure installed in the Sanctuary. Once we have received enough funds to build a permanent structure on the Prince of Peace campus, the temporary structure will move to a permanent location outdoors.
